Yankee Gal is a wonderful short film directed by animators Céline Desrumaux, Gary Levesque, Francois Pons and Antoine Perez during a course at Supinfocom animation school in 2008. They spent the entire year making the film and I believe it was well worth every second.
I created this short video from the stills I captured throughout the painting process. I will also create a longer motion video of the entire process from drawing to final book cover. Song is ‘Easier’ by Grizzly Bear.
Wolf Painting in Stages from Tracy Stone on Vimeo.
The completed wolf painting. Now off to get it photographed and then translate it into the final cover design. I’m also going to create a video on the entire process, which I will post here.

Getting close to the finished piece. Still have the eyes and details to go.

I’m drawn to the paintings of Becca Mann. She paints from found, forgotten Russian photographs. Excellent composition.
In these two stages, I worked on the bridge of the nose down to the mouth. This area has proven to be the most difficult. Still have some work to do.
